For countless kids growing up in the 1980s, Madonna was their Taylor Swift — an artist they could relate to, identify with and emulate. Bluegrass guitarist and singer/songwriter Rebecca Frazier was one of those kids, captivated from the moment she heard the pop star’s undeniable tunes — especially her first top-10 hit, “Borderline.”

Bluegrass guitar flatpicker and singer/songwriter Rebecca Frazier spent a lot of time navigating through the Rocky Mountains during her decade as a Colorado resident. On her new single, “High Country Road Trip,” releasing today on Compass Records, she evokes the feeling of freedom and sense of possibility a winding stretch of highway so often provides — not to mention the amazing scenery at an elevation “way up in the clouds.”

With spring in full bloom and love in the air, it’s wedding season — which makes it the perfect time for bluegrass great Rebecca Frazier’s reminder that those round symbols of a couple’s commitment are supposed to stay where they’re placed: on fingers.

For her first new single in 10 years, Nashville-based singer, songwriter and flatpicking guitarist Rebecca Frazier recruited some heavy hitters, starting with co-writers Jon Weisberger and Bob Minner, who helped pen “Make Hay While the Moon Shines.” Then she stepped into the studio with legends Béla Fleck (banjo), Sam Bush (mandolin), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Barry Bales (bass), Josh Swift (dobro) and Shelby Means (harmony vocals).
