In a twist that we're sure will surprise nobody, we at Grateful Web are big fans of the tenured history of jam bands. From those who lit the flame to the bands that keep our culture alive, their stories are a part of all of us. Grateful Web got the chance to sit down with Mihali Savoulidis, founding member and frontman of Twiddle and pillar of the jam band community at this year's Cali Roots festival.

Beach Road Weekend continues to add to its stellar lineup with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Patti Smith, indie rockers Dispatch, Caamp, Sammy Rae and the Friends, Dinosaur Jr., Maggie Rose, Crooked Coast, Cory Wong, Twiddle and Neighbor. These acts join a lineup that includes Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver, Leon Bridges, Japanese Breakfast, Regina Spektor and nearly two dozen other acts. With the announcement of the full lineup, single day and Sandbar tickets will be available on May 2, 2023, at 10:00 AM.

Twiddle, the upbeat jam rock quartet from Vermont, continued their "Distance Makes the Heart" tour at Webster Hall in New York, NY on April 6, 2023. This bittersweet run has become very special for both the band and their fans after Twiddle announced that they will take an indefinite hiatus upon the conclusion of 2023.

Eggy, the genre bending jam rock quartet from Woodbridge, CT, played for the first time at The Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA on February 23, 2023, and also supported fellow jam rockers, Twiddle. In fact, this rising band is starting to make a name for themselves nationally and is smack in the middle of an eighteen date winter west coast tour with Twiddle.

Baltimore-based funk/jam quartet Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has announced the lineup for this year’s edition of their beloved Domefest, a two-day music and camping festival taking place on May 19-20, 2023 at Thornville, OH’s historic Legend Valley. With a stacked roster of top-tier acts and an array of art, workshops, and vendors, Domefest promises to be a weekend of pure musical magic.

Twenty6 Productions and Buffalo Iron Works have announced the lineup for the 2023 Cobblestone Live Music & Arts Festival taking place July 14 and 15 in downtown Buffalo, NY. This year’s event will span four stages in Buffalo’s Historic Cobblestone District, with two outdoor stages, an indoor stage at Buffalo Iron Works, and an outdoor experience/kid’s village stage.

Twiddle continued their Distance Makes the Heart tour on Sat Jan 21 with their Sold-Out performance at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Mihali Savoulidis and the boys came to the coastal Jersey town on a chilly night with Philly-based Great Time in support.

After 18 years of touring, Twiddle has announced that they will take an indefinite hiatus after 2023. In addition to announcing over 20 shows in 2023, the band’s lead singer and guitarist Mihali Savoulidis penned this letter to fans, explaining the band’s decision:

I come to you all with a heavy heart today to share a tough but important announcement. With the support of my bandmates, we are making  the difficult decision to take an indefinite hiatus as a band starting in 2024 after 18 years of being on the road.
