Blues powerhouse Amanda Fish is set to release her highly anticipated third studio album, KINGDOM, marking her continued evolution as a major voice in the genre. Following her critically acclaimed 2014 debut, DOWN IN THE DIRT, which earned the “Sean Costello Rising Star” Blues Blast Music Award, and her 2019 Blues Music Award-winning second album FREE, Amanda Fish returns with a profound new project.
KINGDOM was written over six years, drawing deeply from the tumultuous events of the pandemic, societal upheavals, and government corruption. These experiences are uniquely filtered through Amanda's perspective as a new parent and frontline healthcare worker. The album weaves a narrative of faith, redemption, and hope amidst chaos, delivering a powerful message of truth and love.
KINGDOM features a stellar lineup of musicians, including Terry Midkiff, Dom Knott, Dylan Farrell, Glen James, and Paul Niehaus IV. Friends and collaborators such as Mama Moo, Billie Baumann, Bob Walther, and the Augusta Ramble audience contribute additional percussion and vocals. The album also boasts guest performances by Billy Evanochko, Jeremiah Johnson, and Richard Rosenblatt. Recorded and mixed by Paul Niehaus IV at Blue Lotus Studio in St. Louis and mastered by Chris Latham at Gorilla’s Nest in Nashville, KINGDOM showcases ten all-original tracks penned and performed by Amanda Fish with her signature power and grace.
The album’s first single, “Mockingbird”, addresses Operation Mockingbird, the Cold War-era CIA operation that aimed to spread disinformation through American news media. The song suggests that such tactics of psychological warfare through media and government collusion persist today.
