Blues-soul rock artist Huntley, the season 24 winner of The Voice, has released his new single, “Skyline Drive.” PRESS HERE to listen, and PRESS HERE to watch the official music video, directed by Patrick Tohill (Jelly Roll, Yelawolf, NF). Written and produced by Huntley, “Skyline Drive” is dedicated to his home state of Virginia, named after the scenic parkway that spans the length of Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This high-energy track showcases Huntley’s blistering vocal range and features a vibrant saxophone solo by his bandmate Samantha Leigh Smith. “Skyline Drive” follows Huntley’s recent single, “Tell Me When It’s Over,” his first original release since winning The Voice in late 2023.
“‘Skyline Drive’ is my love song to Virginia. Her rolling mountains, beautiful sky, and flowing waters have always inspired me,” shares Huntley. “My heart felt like it was the perfect moment to pay homage to my home, especially after everything that has happened this past year. I’ll never forget where it all started.”
When Huntley stepped onto The Voice stage in 2023 for his blind audition, it marked the culmination of two decades of determination and heart, dedicated to the pursuit of musical bliss. Seconds into his debut performance of The Black Crowes’ hit “She Talks to Angels,” all four judges turned their chairs, captivated by his undeniable talent. Weeks later, millions of viewers cast their votes, crowning Huntley the season winner.
Huntley officially introduced his original music to the world this summer with his powerful single, “Tell Me When It’s Over.” Released independently, this track explores the desire for fulfillment in life and love, beautifully articulated with acoustic guitar and Huntley’s unique vulnerability. The haunting piece recalls his musical heroes—from Joe Cocker and Steven Tyler to Ray Charles and Amy Winehouse—and stays with listeners long after the final words fade out. This past Friday, October 25th, Huntley performed the national anthem at the Orlando Magic’s season home opener before a sold-out crowd at the Kia Center.
A Florida native turned Nashville transplant by way of small-town Virginia, Huntley discovered his vocal prowess as a teenager. He developed his powerful voice through heavy metal cover bands and later crafted a captivating style of songwriting while learning acoustic guitar. After high school, Huntley left Virginia for Nashville, where he spent a winter busking on the streets, camping in Centennial Park, or finding shelter with friends. Through these experiences, he honed his own material and collected tips to survive. Eventually, Huntley returned to Virginia, continuing to pursue his dream while raising two children. In 2022, he released his debut original song, “Holdin’ On.” In 2023, he received a life-changing call from The Voice. Since his success on the show, Huntley has performed for tens of thousands, sharing the stage with his talented band from the Mid-Atlantic region, including bassist Daniel John, drummer Joe Palmer, guitarist Tyler Rose, and saxophonist Samantha Smith. Together, they have continued to write, record, and perform, as Huntley captivates audiences with his soulful authenticity and pure heart.
