Renowned Louisiana Bayou blues guitarist, Tab Benoit, is set to embark on his much-anticipated 2024 Night Train Tour, starting with a local performance at Chelsea's Live, located at 1010 Nicholson Drive, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, February 23. The show starts at 8pm, with tickets priced at $35. For more information, call (225) 256-7676 or visit www.chelseaslive.com. JD Simo will also be performing.

Tab Benoit, celebrated for his significant contribution to the blues genre, hails from the lush Bayous of Southern Louisiana. Known for his unique guitar tone and soulful vocals reminiscent of Otis Redding, Benoit's music setup is remarkably straightforward, comprising just a guitar, cord, and Category 5 Amplifier. The effects you hear are purely a product of his skillful playing.

Born on November 17, 1967, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in Houma, Benoit was introduced to music at an early age, influenced by traditional Cajun waltzes and country music. Despite starting on drums, he shifted to guitar to adapt to the gig opportunities available in his community, often in churches and at church fairs.

Benoit's professional journey in blues began in the late '80s at the Blues Box in Baton Rouge. His first recording, "Nice and Warm," was released in 1992, marking the start of a prolific touring and recording career that spans over two decades. With a discography that includes albums under Justice Records, Vanguard, and more recently, Telarc International/Concord Music Group, Benoit has solidified his status as Louisiana's premier blues export.

In addition to his musical achievements, Benoit founded the Voice of the Wetlands non-profit organization, leveraging his platform to advocate for Louisiana's coastal erosion issues. His 2004 release, "Wetlands," and subsequent albums further showcase his evolution as an artist, blending various musical styles indigenous to Louisiana.

In 2011, Benoit's album "Medicine" earned him the title of "BB King Entertainer of the Year" at the 2012 Blue Music Awards in Memphis. Following this, Benoit, along with his manager Rueben Williams, launched Whiskey Bayou Records, spotlighting deserving artists within the blues genre.

Tab Benoit continues to make waves in the music industry, and his 2024 Night Train Tour promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans across the US. Don't miss the opportunity to see this American troubadour live in action.
