The Grateful Web’s John Schumm recently spoke with Zion Godchaux of disco-funk rock & rollers, BoomBox.

The Motet had a banner 2013. Among the highlights, the Afro-funk superstars headlined The Fillmore Auditorium for the first time ever and nearly sold out the 3,900-capacity venue.

Keyboard wiz Kyle Hollingsworth of veteran jam band String Cheese Incident recently took time out of rehearsals for their three show New Years Eve Spectacle to talk to the Grateful Web. The conversation mentions his new brew partner in Stone Brewery, a bevy of new solo material, when String Cheese will be releasing their next record, and how he nearly became a Colorado Forest Ranger instead of the musician he is today.

This is Dylan Muhlberg of Grateful Web joined by Keith Moseley, bass player of Colorado’s born and bred String Cheese Incident. The band is coming off of a year of exciting gigs and festivals including a triumphant two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and a return to fan favorite Hornings Hideout in North Plains, Oregon. Even more exciting is what’s to come for the band and its followers. Keith thanks for joining us this morning.

This is John Schumm with the Grateful Web, and joining me is Mr. Andy Hall, who plays dobro and sings with The Infamous Stringdusters, preparing for an upcoming tour called The Road to Boulder, starting in Columbus, Ohio, December 4th, and moving through the Midwest to Boulder for shows on December 7th and 8th.

GW: How’re you doing Andy?

Between The String Cheese Incident’s impressive Hulaween performances at Suwannee Music Park, gearing up for what’s sure to be a spectacular three-night New Year’s run out in Colorado, not to mention EOTO’s seemingly non-stop touring schedule, it’s safe to say Jason Hann is quite a busy musician.

On the fateful day after extended taxes were due, October 16, 2013, I sat down with [and interviewed) Fayetteville, Arkansas-based band Don’t Stop Please. During the interview there were many jokes, lots of sarcasm and some discussion about music, including insight on their newest album, the creation process and that pesky (now historical) government shutdown. This is the first time I’ve interviewed an entire band together and it was certainly interesting!

As the precipitation begins to fall and the temperatures steadily drop here in the Rockies, the boys from Vermont rock band Twiddle have just completed another scorching Colorado run.
