The San Francisco-based Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band arguably played some of their most prolific shows on the East Coast, as strange is it may seem. Those spectacular primal billings at Bill Graham’s Fillmore East entering the 1970s, “the best show that almost didn’t happen” in May of 1977 at Boston Garden, Clarence Clements ethereal sit-in with Jerry Garcia Band at Great Woods, Massachusetts in fall of 1989.

The final day of Bonnaroo 2019 dawned bright and sunny and was the first scorching day of the festival. Rain clouds threatened the countryside throughout the day, creating a sweat-drenched humid environment sending festival goers to watery refreshment. Many concertgoers were beginning to show signs of fatigue after four nonstop nights of partying. People could be seen passed out in shady spots all across Centeroo throughout the day. But another day of incredible music revived many in the crowd.
Superstar phenom Billy Strings returns as Artist-in-Residence, joining 40+ award-winning bluegrass acts including the Del McCoury Band, Leftover Salmon, Tommy Emmanuel and many more at the 2019 Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival from July 18-21.
