January 2020
GW: Congrats on the recent sold-out Fox Theatre show -- Tell us a little bit about the New Year's show and your history playing in Colorado.
As another new year rolls in, I can’t say how excited I am to see the Grateful Dead family not only thriving but flourishing. We Deadheads can take pride in having become a borderless, boundless global community where a simple Steal-Your-Face sticker on your pack and a smile will find you a safe haven. And with thankfulness being one of the defining criteria of a Deadhead for the life-changing, enlightening experience the Dead brought to our lives, we have a healthy desire to express that gratitude. What is “it” we’re so thankful for?
Known collectively as Hawktail, fiddler Brittany Haas, bassist Paul Kowert, guitarist Jordan Tice, and mandolinist Dominick Leslie are proud to share their much-anticipated sophomore album, Formations today. With the help of co-producer Chris “Critter” Eldridge, the band recorded the album in just four days at Nashville’s Southern Ground Studios.
The Well Known Strangers are excited to announce their debut gigs at historic Rancho Nicasio in West Marin on Sunday, January 12 and local hotspot Peri’s Bar in downtown Fairfax on Friday, January 31. Fresh off of the thrill of their new album TMI, The Well Known Strangers have been entertaining audiences throughout the Bay Area with their celebrated style of country soul.
