Camille Thurman and the Darrell Greene Quartet is a dynamic musical organization. Thurman is a saxophone player, whose gorgeous vocals garnered her second place in the Sarah Vaughn Vocal Competition. She is also a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and has She has performed extensively with artists that include Dr. Billy Taylor, George Coleman, Lew Tabackin, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Alicia Keys, and Missy Elliot.

One of the last surviving members of the Triumvirate of American Funk Godfathers, George Clinton, brought an army of Funk-inspired musicians to the new YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Along with James Brown and Sly Stone, the 82-year-old Clinton is considered one of the founders of the Funk music genre. The concert was the final lap of the One Nation Under a Groove Tour, billed as George Clinton and P Funk’s farewell tour.

Kris Kristofferson will release Live at Gilley’s - Pasadena, TX: September 15, 1981 tomorrow via New West Records. The previously unreleased 15-song set was the final date of Kristofferson’s 1981 tour and was recorded at the legendary Pasadena, TX honky tonk most well known for its role in the 1980 film Urban Cowboy. Kristofferson is backed by an incredible live band featuring Stephen Bruton, Billy Swan, Donnie Fritts, Tommy McClure, Glen Clark, and Sammy Creason.
