Festival organizers today announced nine additional traditional musical acts from around the world and around the corner, who will perform on stages throughout downtown Lowell, MA, July 26-28 during the 37th Annual Lowell Folk Festival. Moving indoors and taking over the Convention Space/Ballroom last week proved to be a big hit with attendees and vendors alike. Using the entire main ballroom and some space in the entryway to create a “Shakedown” atmosphere, similar to the outside version in previous weeks, was a huge success. Featuring over 80 vendors from all over the country, the organizers are now having to turn away new vendor applicants.

"'Cause your soul’s sweet song’s still singin’,” Susan Tedeschi sang in the Tedeschi Trucks Band set opener on May 31, a heartwarming song of hope and a tribute to the late band keyboardist Kofi Burbridge, who passed away five years back. The 12-piece ensemble’s performance was musically elegant, dazzling, and exciting. Myriad layers and complexities of melodies, rhythms, and extended jams merged and blossomed during each song.

Inspired by the many incredible outdoor shows at the old Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, Sunday Daydream is an all-day festival centered around music, family, and fun.
