Ashkenaz Music & Dance Community Center Presents a Lively Lineup of Fall Events

Ashkenaz, Berkeley's historic non-profit music venue, is excited to announce its fall lineup, featuring an array of live music and dance events that embrace the diverse spirit of Bay Area culture. Established in 1973, Ashkenaz has been a hub for local and international artists, offering an inclusive space where all ages can experience live performances and community dance.

From Zydeco to swing, and tango to Balkan beats, Ashkenaz’s schedule is packed with music for all tastes. Ashkenaz Café serves up a variety of refreshments, including vegetarian snacks, organic teas, and locally crafted beers. Doors open 30 minutes before each show for a pre-show gathering in this lively and welcoming environment.

    A 20th-century tradition continues with Stu Allen & Mars Hotel. 8 pm show, tickets $31 Advance / $36 Door.

  • Thursday, October 31Halloween Swing Dance
    Celebrate with Death & Taxes Swing Band. 8 pm start, tickets $20.75 Advance / $25.75 Door.

  • Friday, November 1Lord of the Rings Square Dance
    Enjoy square dancing with Robin Fischer and music by Colonel Longshanks & The Back on the Menu Boys. Tickets $15.75 Advance / $20.75 Door.

  • Saturday, November 2Oakland Samba Revue
    Dance to Forró and Samba rhythms from Brazil. 7:30 pm show, tickets $20.75 Advance / $25.75 Door.

  • Sunday, November 3Bandonegro Tango Orchestra
    A tango lesson at 7 pm followed by live music. Tickets $21 Advance / $26 Door ($12 Student ID at door only).

  • Wednesday, November 6Balkan Night
    Dance to Balkan rhythms with a lesson at 7 pm. $11 Door.

  • Thursday, November 7Bachata Nightz
    Featuring DJ Ron and a lesson by Kathy Reyes and Xavier Stefano at 8 pm. Tickets $15.75 Advance / $25.75 Door ($15 Student ID at door only).

  • Friday, November 15Crys Matthews & Julian Taylor
    Social justice in song, 8 pm show, tickets $25.75 Advance / $30.75 Door.
