Jon Barber of The Disco Biscuits will join forces with Ben Atkind of Elephantproof (formerly Goose) to perform on August 3 at Bearsville Theater in Woodstock. The evening will kick off with a set by Capital Region’s own SM INK.  

“I’m excited to collaborate with Ben again. Our Brooklyn show was very well received, and I think we’ll deliver an even stronger performance now that we’ve got a show under our belts,” Barber said, referencing the duo’s June 1 performance at Future City Lounge.

Performing as Baba G, Barber will be showcasing his talents as a producer and DJ, blending tracks that range from house music to trance and techno, sometimes even integrating songs from The Disco Biscuits. Ben Atkind will provide live drumming, and Barber will intermittently play guitar along with the production. This marks the second time Barber and Atkind have performed together in this unique format, promising fans a dynamic and engaging musical experience as this project continues to evolve.

Pete Shapiro, whose DayGlo Presents recently took over Bearsville Theater, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We believe the combination of Jon Barber and Ben Atkind will create a great musical moment for these early days of the Bearsville Theater,” Shapiro said. Both Barber and Atkind have graced the stages of Shapiro’s renowned Brooklyn Bowl clubs and the Capitol Theatre with their respective bands, The Disco Biscuits, Elephantproof, and Goose.
