From their humble beginnings covering soul standards in Greeley, Colorado, to lighting up national stages with their electrifying performances, The Burroughs have built a decade-long legacy of turning every show into a revival of joy, sweat, and sonic liberation. On Friday, June 13, 2025, the nine-piece powerhouse returns to The Fox Theatre for a night of uninhibited dancing, deep grooves, and radical celebration.

Led by the magnetic Johnny Burroughs, who sings, dances, and preaches soul like a man on a mission, The Burroughs are backed by a searing horn section and a tight, funk-infused rhythm collective made up of some of Colorado’s most respected musicians. Their live show is more than a concert—it’s a call to move, connect, and get free.

Over the years, the band has evolved from their roots in classic soul and R&B into an original creative collective known for their genre-defying sound and passionate dedication to music made in community. With influences spanning Stevie Wonder to Beyoncé, The Burroughs have carved their own path, building an impressive discography and a reputation for high-energy, soul-shaking performances.

Their newest single, “Got To Free Your Mind,” channels the transcendental power of funk, marking a return to their mission of radical communion on dance floors and dive bars across the country. The track kicks off a new chapter for the band, following the release of their conceptual 2023 studio album, Honey Imastar, and its 2024 live companion Live at Washington’s.

The Burroughs’ accolades include performances at Salmonfest Alaska, Bohemian Nights New West Fest, Denver’s UMS, and The Mishawaka, as well as opening slots for The Motet, The Steve Miller Band, Keller Williams, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and The Main Squeeze. Their orchestral collaboration with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra in 2021 showcased their compositional range and community spirit.

Rooted deeply in their Greeley hometown, The Burroughs give back through partnerships with local organizations such as the Weld Food Bank, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Habitat for Humanity. Their current initiative, #BandsGiveBack, in partnership with Greeley-Evans District 6 Schools, is focused on expanding access to music education—offering clinics and shared stage experiences to inspire the next generation of musicians.

Catch The Burroughs live at The Fox Theatre on Friday, June 13, 2025. Doors open at 7:30 PM, show starts at 8:00 PM. This is an all ages event (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).
