Born and raised in Nashville, Daniel Donato’s journey began at just 14 years old, busking on Lower Broadway and eventually joining the legendary Don Kelly Band at Robert’s Western World. Performing 464 shows with the band, Donato mastered a songbook of honky-tonk greats like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Hank Williams Sr.
A pivotal moment came when a high school teacher introduced him to the Grateful Dead through bootleg recordings, igniting Donato's fascination with Jerry Garcia's songwriting and improvisational style. From there, he delved deeper into the works of Bob Dylan and other iconic writers, fueling his passion to craft stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
Backed by his powerhouse band—Nathan Aronowitz (keyboards/guitars/vocals), Will McGee (bass/vocals), and Will Clark (drums/percussion/vocals)—Donato’s Cosmic Country is captivating sold-out audiences across the nation.
