Continuing a year-long 60th-anniversary celebration, The Doors have unveiled a new collaboration with Apple Maps, chronicling the historic places that shaped The Doors’ music and art – from their Californian roots to their European memories. Twenty locations are included in the guide, such as the iconic Whisky a Go Go, where the band cemented its legacy and where Robby Krieger will begin a monthly legacy later this month. Additional locations include favorite restaurants and popular LA haunts like Tail O’ The Pup and Barney’s Beanery, significant recording studios, performing arts centers, venues and much more.

Users can access the Apple Maps guide by opening the Maps app and searching “The Doors” in the search bar. Users can also access via the following LINK.

Earlier this year, The Doors unveiled their iconic Bright Midnight Archives live recordings on streamers for the very first time, an effort that will continue throughout 2025. These coveted concerts previously only existed physically on limited-edition LPs and CDs. The first live release in the series was Live at the Matrix 1967: The Original Masters, which showcased everything from the rip-roaring “Break On Through” to a mesmerizing rendition of “The End.” At the same time, a rare instrumental of “Summertime” proves utterly captivating, while their passion for the blues drives fluid, extended covers of “I’m A King Bee” and “Crawling King Snake.” Stay tuned throughout the year as The Doors continue to make the Bright Midnight Archives catalog available for streaming for the first time.

The Doors kicked off their 60th Anniversary last year with The Doors 1967-1971 release, a 6-LP box set part of Rhino’s acclaimed High Fidelity audiophile vinyl series, featuring all six of the band’s original studio albums cut from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Audio. The vinyl was pressed at Optimal Media and the box includes a heavyweight gatefold jacket featuring rare photos and liner notes by Doors archivist David Dutkowski. Limited to 3,000 individually numbered copies, the collection quickly sold out. These sought-after audiophile titles are now available individually via thedoors.com and rhino.com

Arriving for this year’s Record Store Day festivities on April 12th, The Doors have announced Strange Days 1967: A Work in Progress, an album of rough mixes from studio sessions for The Doors’ iconic second studio album. Discovered after 58-years, this release will present the record without the final overdubs heard on the original release. “It’s time once again to visit 1967 during the recording of The Doors’ Strange Days album,” says longtime Doors engineer Bruce Botnick. “These rough mixes are of the moment since they reflect exactly what and where we were at during the recording sessions.” Set to be released in limited quantities on translucent blue vinyl at participating independent record stores.

Night Divides the Day

To commemorate The Doors anniversary, their first-ever complete anthology book, Night Divides the Day, arrives on May 13th illuminating the band’s archives like never before with rare photography, intimate interviews with Robby Krieger and John Densmore, and meticulously sourced archival text from Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek. With unlimited access granted by the band, Night Divides the Day includes a unique collection of historical ephemera – including childhood photos, song lyrics, poster artwork, movie stills, and much more – which adds context to the wealth of rare photography that documents the band’s musical odyssey. Joining Krieger and Densmore are a host of contributors, with a foreword by Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic and an afterword by maestro Gustavo Dudamel.  Available for pre-order now.
