Today, Philly-based psychedelic rock duo Echo Kid proudly announces the release of their latest project, “Leaving (You’re Immortal In My Mind).” Following the rollout of three captivating singles throughout the spring, the album’s release will culminate in a highly anticipated show at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 29th.
“Leaving (You’re Immortal In My Mind)” is an exploration of love and all its facets—the pain of parting, the joy of reunion, the interplay of light and dark, and the ecstatic experience of being alive on this floating rock in space. This album is a heartfelt farewell to a moment in time and the people who inhabited it, as well as a warm welcome to new friends, lovers, and moments yet to come.
The album features music created from late 2021 to the present, primarily recorded on the duo’s beloved Tascam machines, Hank and Jane. Some tracks are raw, single-take recordings, while others are layered with multiple bounces, offering a diverse listening experience. Echo Kid has played many of these songs live for years with various members of their ever-evolving Lunar Sludge Band, making each track deeply significant to them. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the development and performance of these songs.
