Preparations for the 2021 Main Line Bike Race and Ardmore Rock N’ Ride Music Festival are officially underway. On August 21st the family-friendly, outdoor, fundraiser event will bring the Ardmore and surrounding community together for a day of cycling, live music, food and more. The annual bike race, which benefits Narberth Ambulance, welcomes new partners Ardmore Music Hall and Suburban Square and offers something for everyone: experienced riders can sign up for the race, which is officially sanctioned by US Cycling; kids can participate in the kid’s bike race, taking place at 1PM; music lovers can enjoy the sounds of Philly native rockers Mondo Cozmo, George Porter Jr. (of The Meters) & Runnin’ Pardners, The Skatalites and more at two outdoor stages.

Ardmore Music Hall, the Main Line’s institution for live music entertainment, will produce two outdoor stages this year - one in Schauffele Plaza near the Bike Race finish line, and the other set up on St. James Place in Suburban Square - and downtown Ardmore will be brimming with sights and sounds for all visitors. Nonstop live music will run from 12-8 PM on the 21st. More information can be found at ardmorerocknride.com

This year’s bike race course will flow through Suburban Square and feature a straightaway down the center of the shopping district strip. Races begin as early as 8 AM, while the most competitive cyclists can be seen whipping around town in the 2-4:30 PM block. “Suburban Square is honored to be a part of this multifaceted community event that is sure to delight our neighbors as well as introduce Ardmore to those coming to compete or spectate from outside the area,” says Joy Medlock, General Manager of Suburban Square. “Narberth Ambulance deserves the community’s support so it can continue to deliver its best-in-class service. To this end, Suburban Square’s objective is to foster the event’s growth and popularity for years to come.”

“The goal is to bring life back to the area while supporting Narberth Ambulance. This was a difficult year for us all and the race has been so successful in the past that Narberth Ambulance was able to cover 85 percent of the cost of its newest ambulance using only proceeds from the past two years of the event,” said Narberth Ambulance executive director Albert Davey.

Independence Blue Cross and Main Line Health and are each returning to sponsor the race for a fourth straight year. To register or become a sponsor of the event, visit mainlinebikerace.com. The event is supported by the Ardmore Initiative and Ardmore Business Association.

“We are delighted that this event continues to grow and evolve to make Ardmore a destination event each and every summer while simultaneously demonstrating what Narberth Ambulance does all day, every day to support the safety of the communities we serve,” said Narberth Ambulance Chief Christopher Flanagan. “We look forward to collaborating with our partners to make our August 21st Bike Race another great success.”
