Lotus announces more dates to their winter tour in support of the latest album, Eat the Light. The string of recent two-night shows continues down south at Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse & Asheville’s Orange Peel. They will also tour the California coast with stops at Solana Beach’s Belly Up, Los Angeles’ The Fonda Theatre and two nights at The Independent in San Francisco before heading to Oregon to play Portland’s Crystal Ballroom and Eugene’s McDonald Theatre.
These new shows are in addition to the previously announced two-night runs at New York City’s Playstation Theatre for Thanksgiving weekend, Pittsburgh’s Stage AE for New Year’s Eve, and DC’s 9:30 Club. They also return to Philadelphia’s Electric Factory and Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium for one night each and appear at Tucson’s Gem & Jam Festival. See below for a full list of confirmed shows.
Having built a massive fanbase over the years, Lotus tours heavily selling out headline shows across the county and playing festivals such as Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Ultra, and more. Whether you catch Lotus in outdoor amphitheaters, the country’s best theaters, intimate clubs or a variety of festivals, you can expect to have an experience of the senses.
The band's new album, Eat the Light, is a first for Lotus - an album with vocals on every song. Guest singers appear throughout ranging from soulful to indie and electronic to rock. The tracks bubble with contagious dance energy and blast into orbit with sing-along choruses. The tightly produced yet raw grooves recall sounds of The Talking Heads, Jamiroquai, and LCD Soundsystem.
Lotus will release a remix package on December 16th. It features new takes on album cuts by TWOGOOD (stream), Oliver Nelson & Tobtok, Roisto, Luke the Knife, Fare Soldi, and hakibros.
Lotus is composed of Mike Greenfield (Drums), Jesse Miller (Bass, Sampler), Luke Miller (Guitar, Keys), Mike Rempel (Guitar) and Chuck Morris (Percussion).
