Legendary progressive and psychedelic rock pioneers Gong are set to release a special edition of their critically acclaimed 2023 album Unending Ascending on September 20, 2024, via Kscope. This new release, available as a CD digipak with an 8-page booklet, will feature 6 exclusive live bonus tracks, recorded at the band’s 2024 performance at Edinburgh’s Summerhall during the "Gong + Ozric Tentacles UK Tour."

Coinciding with their highly anticipated North American & European tour this fall, Gong’s release comes at a time of renewed energy and creative momentum for the band. The tour will take them across the USA, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Poland, among others.

Frontman Kavus Torabi shared his excitement: “It’s been a long time coming but, following the release of Unending Ascending, Gong are delighted to be playing in the US. No minds left unblown or else.”

PROG Magazine hailed the album as “Cosmic rock of the highest order,” while Louder Than War called it “a spectacular introduction” to new listeners encountering Gong for the first time.

ABOUT GONG
The cosmic journey of Gong began in 1969, founded by the visionary Daevid Allen. A former member of Soft Machine, Allen infused his spiritual, metaphysical, and experimental ethos into the band's DNA. Gong quickly established itself as one of the most innovative groups of the 1970s, combining rock, jazz, and psychedelia with mysticism and surrealism.

After Allen's passing, the band carried forward his vision, with the current incarnation continuing to explore new musical realms. Their mantra remains: "Carry it on into new unknown heights and depths far beyond anything I could ever imagine myself."
