Greetings, Sweet Friends. I hope your year is off to a great start. Getting my record released is first and foremost on my mind these days. In anticipation of the big release event to be announced soon, I've managed to assemble a true dream team of musicians to play my songs. We'll be testing out the waters next Saturday, January 20th, at Terrapin Crossroads in the bar and I can't tell you how honored I am to have this lineup a seasoned all-stars perform my original music. This is a free show. We're going be playing several songs off the upcoming record, along with some new originals and covers. I am overjoyed! In case you don't get the full extent of the WOAH involved with this show, here are some brief spinets from the band's personal bios below. (Note, It's kinda late. I think I meant to say snipet, but I'm going to just own spinet here, even if it really does mean "a type of small upright piano".)
BAND SPINETS:
James Nash (The Waybacks) on guitar. "James has served as bandleader for ensembles with the likes of everyone from Elvis Costello to Emmylou Harris, Bela Fleck to Bob Weir, Chris Thile and Jerry Douglas to Darol Anger and Mike Marshall."
Joe Craven (Garcia/Grisman Project) on mandolin, fiddle and percussion. "Joe has made music with many folks – notably violinist Stephane Grappelli and Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia – to multi-whirled string guy David Lindley, harmonica wizard Howard Levy and seven years recording and touring with banjo fusionist Alison Brown."
Jordan Feinstein (Jordan and the Ritual) on keys and organ. One of San Francisco's top go-to keyboard players, Jordan plays regularly with with La Gente, American Nomad, Lebo, Stu Allen and Mars Hotel and has shared the stage with ALO, Tea Leaf Green, Anders Osborn, Brett Dennen, George Porter Jr., Carolyn Wonderland, Phil Lesh, and more.
Robin Sylvester (RatDog) on bass. Gabe Ford (Little Feat) on drums. "Ford spent his early career in the San Francisco Bay area playing with a popular pop band called 008. He played the blues at the same time by playing and recording with his uncles as well as Chris Cain and Michael Osborn. In 2006 Ford released his first self-titled solo album. Other musicians that play on the album are Robben Ford, Chris Cain, Joe Colgan, Mark Ford, John R Burr, Dewayne Pate, Chris McGee and Johnny Bennett. In early 2009 Ford backed his uncle, Robben Ford, on drums when he toured with Jorma Kaukonen and Ruthie Foster. He has been Little Feat's drummer since 2010."
