Ivy Room Presents “Songs About Something: Old, New, Borrowed and Blue Tunes in the Round” on June 1st will feature host Paige Clem joined by Joe Craven, Walking Spanish’s Alexander Nelson and Garrin Benfield.
Described by JamBase as having “a vibe and setting more akin to an indoor campfire circle than a concert stage”, songwriter Paige Clem hosts this unique spin on "songwriters in the round" where talented local and touring songwriters come together to share a "NEW" original song, an "OLD" original song, a "BORROWED" cover song and a "BLUES" song every first Thursday of the month at Ivy Room in Albany, CA.
The eight event in this ongoing series, the June Songs About Something will feature highly acclaimed musical virtuoso of Garcia & Grisman fame, Joe Craven, Alexander Nelson from Sacramento’s multi-Sammy-Award-winning band, Walking Spanish, and “an artist you must see live” (JamBase), Brooklyn’s Garrin Benfield. Rounding out the lineup is Songs About Something creator, curator and host, Paige Clem, joined by “one-man-orchestra-pit” Jordan Feinstein of Jordan and the Ritual. Clem and all performers will also perform a 20-minute set of their own music after the in-the-round portion of the evening where the artists often accompany each other.
The series is currently being scheduled through September 2017. The July 6th show will feature The Coffis Brothers and Midnight North’s Grahame Lesh; Chloe Tietjen (T Sisters) will appear in August and Bear Market Riot will perform in September.
