40 years to the day of The Last Waltz, happening in the same city - just across town, Jackie Greene brings the magic of musical friendship to life. Greene welcomes a handful of special guests to the stage with his band at The Warfield in San Francisco on Saturday, November 26. Jackie’s birthday show will feature guest appearances from Grateful Dead’s founding bassist Phil Lesh, plus additional Bay Area friends including guitarist Mark Karan, multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby, guitarist Ross James and another yet-to-be-named very special guest.
Lesh & Greene are no strangers as Greene has been a continuing member of Phil Lesh & Friends since 2007, plus Greene has noted he’s learned a great deal about performing from playing with Phil. A native to the Bay Area, Greene’s hometown show also serves as a birthday show; he’ll be turning 36 that evening. On Greene’s 27th birthday at The Warfield, Phil & Friends played a show there and ended up being one of Jackie’s favorites. Now he returns for his first headlining show at the Warfield. Thanksgiving weekend is sure to be a great background for a fantastic night of music and celebration in one of America’s most esteemed halls.
