The jam-heavy, improvisational quartet Spafford played a phenomenal show last week at Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC.  Spafford took the stage and launched the first set with original song "Double Time" which is full of rock heavy riffs and strong vocals from guitarist Brian Moss.  After a smooth rendition of Steve Kimock's song "Ice Cream," Spafford really took it to another level with the three-song combo "Pursuit of Trance*">"America">"The Waltz."

Occasionally, Spafford will innovate their original songs with elements of other genres like electronic music, such as trance and techno.  The result of this innovation transforms original songs like "Pursuit of Madness" into "Pursuit of Trance," and Neighborhood Theatre was in it for the ride.  With an up-beat tempo and spacey keys from keyboardist Cory Schechtman, this song had everyone moving as Spafford seamlessly transitioned into original "America" followed by the all instrumental "The Waltz."

Spafford's encore was nothing short of spectacular with a thirty minute combo of original songs "The Reprise">"Virtual Bean Dip" which features mind blowing guitar solos by Moss, playing his newest Thomas Milana custom guitar named "The Crow."  Both of these songs are high energy jam vehicles and are also fully instrumental.
