Tune in tonight: Antone’s celebrates 50 yrs of shaping the blues w. special ACL Live taping

Tonight, Austin City Limits hosts a very special taping at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Antone’s – the legendary Austin nightclub that “helped put the live music capital of the world on the map” (Austin American Statesman).

The star-studded lineup for ACL & Antone's Celebrate the Blues includes Jimmie Vaughan, Sue Foley, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Charlie Sexton, Big Bill Morganfield, Lil’ Ed Williams, Grace Bowers, Bobby Rush and Lurrie Bell. Backing them is an incredible 14-piece house band, led by musical director and Antone’s own Zach Ernst, and featuring legends like ACL Hall of Famer Chris Layton, Steve Bell, Joe Sublett, and more.

Fans can catch the magic live tonight — ACL will livestream the full performance starting promptly at 8PM CT exclusively on YouTube: youtube.com/austincitylimitstv.

The livestream will only be available in real-time — don’t miss it! The broadcast episode will air this fall as part of the PBS series' upcoming Season 51.

On June 24, Round Records & ATO Records will release GarciaLive Volume Six: July 5, 1973 – Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders, the latest installment of the celebrated GarciaLive archival series. The three-CD set was recorded at the 200 capacity Lion’s Share club formerly located in the small town of San Anselmo, CA, just 20 miles north of San Francisco. The performance features Jerry Garcia performing with friend, mentor and legendary keyboardist/vocalist Merl Saunders. The duo is joined by drummer Bill Vitt and bassist John Kahn, who soon became a lifelong Garcia collaborator.
