The California Bluegrass Association’s 49th annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival is adding a pair of special shows to keep the music going after Friday and Saturday Main Stage performances, and has selected the Vern’s Stage lineup of afternoon performers. The festival also has slated a new youth activity: pre-school family jams.

Missy Raines, a 14-time International Bluegrass Music Award winner and the most awarded bass player in IBMA history, proudly announces the release of her most bluegrass-centric album to date, "Highlander." Set to release on February 9th, this album marks a return to Raines’ bluegrass roots, offering a musical homage to the peaks and valleys of her native West Virginia.

Renowned banjo player and California native Alison Brown will headline an eclectic lineup of established and up-and-coming bluegrass stars at the California Bluegrass Association’s 49th annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival, slated for June 13-16 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, Calif. Single-day and four-day passes are on sale now for the festival, which will feature 32 performers appearing on three stages, including five rising California showcase bands.
