Swedish Americana singer Jesper Lindell’s second album, Twilights (coming March 18, 2022), is a creative tour de force, a compelling mix of blue-eyed soul and down-to-earth classic rock, a timeless sound coming anew from Scandinavia. During two years of setbacks – weathering label issues, a pandemic, cancelled tours, and a kidney disease to boot – Jesper and his band had little else to do but write and record music. The result is a remarkable new album recorded in their own studio in Brunnsvik, outside of Ludvika, Sweden.

Award-winning Canadian soul-bluesman Matt Andersen has been added as a special guest on the summer tour of superstars Steve Miller and Marty Stuart. Unlimited Devotion, the two-day musical throwdown held annually at the Ardmore Music Hall, in Ardmore, PA, returned this past weekend, and this year’s lineup may have been the best it’s ever pulled together. The weekend always acts in large part as a tribute to the music of The Grateful Dead, and this year offered a full performance of a Dead album each night—Workingman’s Dead on night one, and American Beauty on night two.

Ardmore Music Hall proudly reprises their annual 2-night fundraiser and concert event, Unlimited Devotion, on May 31st and June 1st with iconic social activist and “official clown” of the Grateful Dead, Wavy Gravy, as the guest of honor and yet another star studded lineup of musicians and bands to celebrate the music, spirit and generosity of the Grateful Dead community; The Unlimited Devotion event has raised over $80,000 in charitable donations so far - and counting.

The Wood Brothers never disappoint in bringing the house down in their hometown, and last week's show was no exception.  The evening started with Amy Helm (product of Levon Helm).  She has a beautiful voice, and stage presence and her band members were exquisite.  I saw hints of 'The Band'... made me wonder if her Dad was at the Theater last evening.  Great way to start the night!
