Ardmore Music Hall
Unlimited Devotion, the two-day musical throwdown held annually at the Ardmore Music Hall, in Ardmore, PA, returned this past weekend, and this year’s lineup may have been the best it’s ever pulled together. The weekend always acts in large part as a tribute to the music of The Grateful Dead, and this year offered a full performance of a Dead album each night—Workingman’s Dead on night one, and American Beauty on night two.
Always on the radar of the folk and Americana faithful in the Philadelphia area, the Ardmore Music Hall will bring in a heaping helping of top notch singer-songwriters to their calendar for the spring season in the form of Canadian cowboy Colter Wall, Tennessee songwriter John Paul White (of The Civil Wars), and Midwestern songstress Lissie and two Philadelphia Folk Fest veterans in Memphis songstress Valerie June and outlaw country legend Steve Earle.
After releasing her stunning UK top 10 record ‘Castles’ last year, Lissie has returned in 2019 with ‘When I’m Alone: The Piano Retrospective’- an evocative collection that reinterprets songs from her first decade in music, as well as exceptional covers of Fleetwood Mac and The Dixie Chicks.

Since reactivating in mid-2016 the Squirrel Nut Zippers have been performing to packed houses across the country and around the world. As band leader Jimbo Mathus has said since the band’s re-launch, ‘it’s not a reunion, it’s a revival!’
And the revival last year included the band’s first new studio album in eighteen years titled titled Beasts Of Burgundy. The album debuted at #4 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart upon its release and the critics raved:
