It was a clash of the bass guitar titans Saturday night at the Boulder Theater. A double bill of the Victor Wooten Band and the Stanley Clarke Band was a jazz extravaganza showcasing two generations of innovative bass masters together under one roof.
Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment and Jam Productions, Ltd. are proud to make the first round of artist announcements for the Summer Camp 2011 Music Festival.
In December of 2004 I saw Béla Fleck & the Flecktones at the Water Street Music Hall in Rochester. At that show Béla made a mention of his plans which at that time included traveling to Africa to research the roots of the banjo. This intrigued me as I had just been to Morocco and seen banjos being played out in the square, a sight I was not expecting, and as I also have a large amount of family in Africa.
It's interesting that when you ask anyone from south Florida what the local music scene is like, most locals will reply 'What music scene?". Now don't get me wrong, there is a music scene that really caters to the jazz, Latin and blues world but nothing alternative or rock that really stood out and connected south Florida to the rest of the world since the days of the Hollywood Sportatorium that is until now Langerado.
The Langerado Music Festival is known for kicking off the country's festival season each March by attracting thousands of music lovers from all over the country to sunny South Florida. The event, happening at Markham Park on March 9, 10, and 11, 2007, is reputed for always gathering a diverse collection of today's hottest artists.

Please keep in mind that I could not possibly see all of the bands that played, although I did try to see most.
