For eighteen years and counting, Northwest String Summit has brought fans of contemporary bluegrass, indy, funk, jam rock, and everything in between to the greater Portland area for what has become a highlight of the summer for festivalgoers nationwide.

DelFest, the festival brainchild of Del McCoury and his extended McCoury family, has just announced DelFest At Home, a streaming event celebrating musical highlights from DelFests past. Happening during the originally scheduled festival weekend, May 21st through May 24th, the free online event will feature performances from the festival’s namesake and his family as well as bluegrass and jam band luminaries such as Trey Anastasio Band, Bela Fleck & Chris Thile, Greensky Bluegrass, and more. Held at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in beautiful Cumberland, MD, DelFest originated from the desire to create a family-friendly music festival celebrating the rich legacy of McCoury music while creating a forum for world-class musical collaborations and to showcase fresh new talent.

Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment in conjunction with the Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee announce the Immokalee Bluegrass Festival, a FREE bluegrass music festival in the city of Immokalee, Florida.  The free festival will feature six outdoor concerts and an additional two concerts indoors in the casino’s Zig Zag Lounge after the festival concludes.  There will also be a large vendor section and a variety of arts and food trucks.

Even among the pantheon of music’s finest artists, Del McCoury stands alone. From the nascent sound of bluegrass that charmed hardscrabble hillbilly honkytonks, rural schoolhouse stages, and the crowning glory of the Grand Ole Opry to the present-day culture-buzz of viral videos and digital streams, Del is the living link. On November 9, The Del McCoury Band brought their upbeat brand of bluegrass to the Aladdin Theater in Portland, Oregon. The show, which was opened by The Jacob Jolliff Band, one of the next generations of jamgrass supergroups, was an amazing double bill of traditional bluegrass.
