Friday at Wakarusa began with sunshine and high fives. It was an awesome day. Despite the fact I put on sunscreen 5 times, I still got a sunburn. But I got to see a fair amount of music and found a lot of friends I had been hoping to see. Overall, great day!

Each summer since 1968, music lovers from all over make their way to Wisconsin to enjoy the annual Summerfest held in Milwaukee. The festival of 2013 begins on June 26th and lasts for eleven days. Music lovers UNITE! This fest in the big little city of Milwaukee boasts eleven days with eleven stages with over 800 acts and more than 1000 performances. There are bands ranging from some of the most well known in the world like the Violent Femmes and The Cure, to some of the smaller bands making their way into the spotlight.

Just a week before Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Arkansas is stormed with wild country music fans for the Thunder on the Mountain music festival, the same valley will be filled with the likes of us: hippies, high-fivers, costumed, raging, party-hardy music lovers. Wakarusa. It’s coming and it’s going to be better than last year. IT’S THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY for god’s sake!

Dispatch today announced the dates for their forthcoming Circles Around The Summer Tour 2013. The run of dates will kick off on May 29th in Nashville, TN at the Ryman Auditorium and wrap up on June 15th in Berkeley, CA at the Greek Theatre. Guster will join the band for the outdoor shows in Boston, Chicago, and Berkley and Allen Stone will support the Nashville and Birmingham dates. The band will also perform at the Wakarusa Festival in Ozark, AR and Mountain Jam in Hunter Mountain, NY.
