John Brown’s Body's Kings And Queens has debuted at #1 on the Billboard and iTunes Reggae charts. Kings And Queens (released April 16, 2013 on Easy Star Records) is the band’s eighth studio album and most ambitious release to date, encompassing the entire history of the band’s sound and legacy. The album debuted impressively on other Billboard charts including #23 on the Heatseekers Chart, #4 on Northeast New Artist Chart, and #188 on the Top 200 Digital albums, amongst others.

The tune takes a nostalgic turn near the end, riffing on some old jazz, but it’s largely a characteristic overture for Kings and Queens – a slight shift from the early days of John Brown’s Body has taken form here, albeit grounded firmly in roots from the same tree.This band hasn’t rested on its early-dub laurels in passing years (see Amplify); no exception here.

Boston, MA / Ithaca, NY-based John Brown’s Body is proud to unveil a run of spring tour dates beginning April 12th, 2013. The ‘Future Roots’ group will play solo dates through the Northeast, and will reunite with Easy Star All-Stars in Brooklyn, NY, and later join SOJA to support in Philadelphia, PA. The band is pleased to present the inaugural BIG UPstate Reggae Festival held at Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, NY, on April 26th.

With the winter doldrums in full swing it’s easy to contract some severe cabin fever. We are getting ever closer to spring but the temperatures seem to say otherwise. Thankfully the Aggie Theatre was serving up a warm dose of John Brown’s Body and Euforquestra to ease our winter suffering.
John Brown's Body is proud to announce early 2013 tour dates in the Northeast and Colorado. The Boston / Ithaca based ‘Future Roots’ group will hit the road January 18th, 2013 for a string of shows spanning from Syracuse, NY to Vail, CO. Tickets can be purchased through all venue outlets.
