On November 12th, the constantly producing journeyman of the jam scene - Keller Williams – released his newest album, entitled FUNK.

We are a community of audiophiles who understand the intrinsic value of live music to a point that we have been known to base large chunks of our free time around chasing the perfect show. And yet, how many bands that we see as the cream of the jamband scene were exposed to us through live recordings? Sure, we all had bootlegs in college, but I am sure that most of you started in high school with ‘Skeletons in The Closet’ from Columbia House just like I did.

MerleFest, presented by Lowe’s and slated for April 24-27, 2014, is proud to announce the music festival’s initial lineup. The four-day event, an annual homecoming of musicians and music fans, will once again take place on the campus of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. As in years past, the initial lineup reflects the diversity and quality of performers that are the hallmark of the festival.

Tickets are now on sale for the Rex Foundation's annual benefit celebration at the legendary Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco December 7, 2013.

The ever-prolific Keller Williams recently announced a massive winter tour in support of his exciting new release with his latest musical muse, a 6-piece funk band dubbed ‘More Than A Little’. The “What The FUNK Tour” takes Keller and this cast of hard-hitting funk players through major markets throughout the Midwest and West in early 2014.  The full list of dates is included below.

All the headliners delivered multiple performances that displayed why they were the headliners at Lockn’ Festival and all the up and comers gave performances that ensure that the state of the Jamband genre is in a very good place.  Much of the credit for the scene remaining so strong is due Phil Lesh.

Being a Keller Williams fan means being ready for anything—trying to guess where this omnivorous artist will head next might be fun but chances are good you won’t even come close.

ARISE! Those are bold words that I have used in the title of this review, but I have thought long and hard about it, and I can rationalize and explain it. This inaugural festival is one that I will never miss. I was only there for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, but I did not sleep, and in that short period of time, I was able to completely capture the magic and vibe of this festival.
