This past Tuesday night, born-and-bred New Orleans musical icon and ambassador Trombone Shorty performed an electrifying rendition of his new song “Lifted” with an 11-piece band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It marks his third time on The Late Show and kicks off a summer of key appearances and a major U.S. tour that includes headlining dates at Central Park SummerStage, Red Rocks and The Hollywood Bowl.

Following the success and fun of last summer’s tour together, Gov’t Mule – led by GRAMMY® Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, guitar legend, and producer Warren Haynes – and GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and horn-blower Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue have announced a run of five co-headlining shows for this August. The two bands will bring their acclaimed live shows to Oshkosh, WI, Huber Heights, OH, Roanoke, VA, Outer Banks, NC and Columbia, SC, with the latter as a rescheduled date from last September.

Capping an historic April that has included his first-ever Grammy win, an appearance on the Grammy Salute to Paul Simon (airing later this year on CBS), and a deeply revealing interview with Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, where Marc attested “I can’t remember the last time I heard a power horn band like that,” Trombone Shorty today has released Lifted, his first album of original music in five years.

Trombone Shorty has announced a list of very special guests for his Saturday, April 30 Treme Threauxdown headlining performance at The Saenger Theatre in New Orleans which includes: Joan Jett, Gary Clark Jr, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, David Shaw and James Andrews with more guests to be announced soon.

Trombone Shorty has announced Tank and the Bangas as the opening act for his Saturday, April 30 Treme Threauxdown headlining performance at The Saenger Theatre in New Orleans during the first weekend of the Jazz and Heritage Festival, making it his sixth time hosting this event at the historic Saenger venue. This show is just one day after his first album in five years is released.

Trombone Shorty will release his highly anticipated new studio album Lifted April 29 on Blue Note Records. Cola Concerts will welcome Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Michael Franti and The Revivalists, Ziggy Marley and more with the launch of the new Fall season at the revamped Columbia Speedway Amphitheater. The reconfigured venue can now fit more than 12,000 fans at every show. The new lineup includes; The Revivalists & Michael Franti (8/28), Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit which has been rescheduled to 9/2, Sublime with Rome & Dirty Heads (9/11), Gov't Mule & Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (9/16), and Ziggy Marley (10/5).
