Trombone Shorty has announced Tank and the Bangas as the opening act for his Saturday, April 30 Treme Threauxdown headlining performance at The Saenger Theatre in New Orleans during the first weekend of the Jazz and Heritage Festival, making it his sixth time hosting this event at the historic Saenger venue. This show is just one day after his first album in five years is released.

Trombone Shorty will release his highly anticipated new studio album Lifted April 29 on Blue Note Records. For his first album in five years, the born-and-bred New Orleans musical icon and ambassador harnesses the raw power and exhilarating grooves of his legendary live shows, over ten tracks recorded at his own Buckjump Studio with producer Chris Seefried (Fitz and the Tantrums, Andra Day).

Trombone Shorty’s Voodoo Threauxdown is a curated mini-festival, a history of New Orleans music and a vision of where that music is headed in the 21st century. “I want to share the music and the vibe of my city,” Trombone Shorty says.

Trombone Shorty closed out the annual BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn Festival with the high energy New Orleans flavor that he is known for. The weather cooperated and yielded a thoroughly enjoyable evening for all fans in attendance.

Gov’t Mule are headed back on the road this summer and fall. The acclaimed quartet has announced a run of six co-headlining shows with GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and horn-blower Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, kicking off on August 25th in Salt Lake City.

New Orleans funk powerhouse Dumpstaphunk has released ‘Where Do We Go From Here,’ their first full-length in seven years, and undeniably the most powerful and politically pointed album of their career. To celebrate today’s release, the band is unveiling a music video for the album’s title track, which speaks to the overall themes of the project.
