Some things are meant for the birds

So take these hollowed bones,

I can’t fly…

Notes for the future are the “imagined sometime in the past” tropes of a storyteller. Freed from every day “isms” of convention and released from the symbolic containment of the vault, the music is an allegorical exploration in futurism. The stream running throughout the musical narrative is a speculative commentary about our human search for meaning, and we’re reminded that as a version of our ancestors’ vision, this quest never ends.

Throughout the past eight decades of bluegrass music, each era of the genre has been marked with a certain kind of standout act; not in terms of popularity or radio airplay, but based on the amount of other world-class musicians hanging out at this one group’s shows on their off nights. From the Stanley Brothers and Flatt & Scruggs to the Bluegrass Album Band and Nashville Bluegrass Band, there’s always one band of players’ players out there dropping the jaws of their contemporaries.

For over two decades songwriter, artist, and producer Anna Rose has honed her craft, fueled her passion for creating music, and release after release continues to thrill her fans with her honesty. Her upcoming full-length album, Last Girl at the Rodeo focuses even deeper on the integrity and raw vulnerability that Rose hopes to find and share through her music. She often crosses genre lines, bends and blends her influences, and designs a lane all her own.
