Unlimited Devotion, the two-day musical throwdown held annually at the Ardmore Music Hall, in Ardmore, PA, returned this past weekend, and this year’s lineup may have been the best it’s ever pulled together. The weekend always acts in large part as a tribute to the music of The Grateful Dead, and this year offered a full performance of a Dead album each night—Workingman’s Dead on night one, and American Beauty on night two.

Ardmore Music Hall proudly reprises their annual 2-night fundraiser and concert event, Unlimited Devotion, on May 31st and June 1st with iconic social activist and “official clown” of the Grateful Dead, Wavy Gravy, as the guest of honor and yet another star studded lineup of musicians and bands to celebrate the music, spirit and generosity of the Grateful Dead community; The Unlimited Devotion event has raised over $80,000 in charitable donations so far - and counting.

The last day of Music on the Mesa 2017 was bright and sunny as I walked over to the Patio Stage to hear local Norteno singer/songwriter Chris Arellano. I’m embarrassed to say, though I follow Nuevo Mexico ranchera music, I hadn’t heard Chris’ work before. He and his brother Rodney, along with local pedal steel player Scott Harris, treated us with more music than his one-hour set because Western Centuries broke down and couldn’t make their time slot.

Kyle Hollingsworth’s Hoppy Holidays-now in its third year supporting local non-profit Conscious Alliance-keeps on giving Coloradans what they want. With over thirty breweries pouring their best suds for those peeled away from the couch and college football, jubilant times flourished under the signature Fillmore chandeliers.

Bluegrass aficionado and The String Cheese Incident frontman Billy Nershi is a man of many tools. When he’s not on the road playing sold out concert halls with his band The String Cheese Incident, he’s sitting in with some of his favorite local artists in his home state of Colorado and pushing musical boundaries to new limits.

With winter weather only beginning to set in, fans can still keep their spirits bright with the announcement of the 9th annual Hoopla in the Hills Art & Music Festival Campout, held March 26-29 at Frontier Ranch Music Center – only 20 minutes outside of Columbus. 

The 2^nd annual ARISE Music Festival was full of magic, wonder, music, acrobats, dancers, poets, and artists of all kinds just as it was last year during its debut. After reviewing the pre-party in Boulder and attending the open house on site, I knew that the creators and help of this amazing festival would come together once again to produce a loving, creative, and musical environment, which would provide endless delight for everyone involved.

Every summer music festival season brings a slew of new concepts and destinations for “festivarians” to pick and choose from. You have to marvel at the fact that so many continue to thrive year after year considering the number of options that are out there. In Colorado alone, thousands of tourists from everywhere come to enjoy countless summer music festival options. Maybe you made it to Rockygrass in July and rejoiced in the revival of a flood-ravaged site miraculously sprung back to life with true roots community effort.

For bluegrass fans it doesn’t get much better than YarmonyGrass: picturesque Colorado weather, great friends, and top-notch picking in one of the most beautiful parts of Colorado. From August 15^th to the 17^th, bluegrass lovers gathered at Rancho Del Rio for the ninth annual YarmonyGrass festival, and the results were more than pleasing.
