With Dead and Company playing CU’s Folsom Field this weekend we wanted to give out-of-town folks some ideas what else to do in Boulder before and after the show(s).

For music fans everywhere, a new album by legendary Yes singer Jon Anderson is ample reason to celebrate. But Anderson’s grand and glorious new solo album, 1,000 Hands, is quite unlike any other record – it’s an event, one which the singer’s loyal legion of fans across the globe have been wildly anticipating for three decades. The album, which will be released on March 31, can be previewed and pre-ordered here.

The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country, allows kids to “move, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon” (NY Times). Performing songs created by the most iconic musicians in rock history, The Rock and Roll Playhouse band offers its core audience of families with children age ten and under games, movement, stories and an opportunity to rock out in an effort to educate children and explore their creativity.

Beatles or Elvis? Who was the real King of Rock 'n' Roll? Two of the greatest musical acts of all time face off in a high-octane, adrenaline-pumping musical showdown on Friday, August 16 at the Boulder Theater courtesy of nationally touring Beatles band Abbey Road and premier Elvis tribute, Scot Bruce. The Abbey Road band performed at the Boulder Theater last year with Beatles vs. Stones.
