The 2nd Annual Dark Star Jubilee, All Good Presents first festival of the 2013 season, has been scheduled for May 24th-26th, featuring three full shows by renowned Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra and performances by Mickey Hart Band, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Wailers, Melvin Seals and JGB, The Werks, and Donna Jean Godchaux Band,

Past the effulgent cherry red and puke green neon sign delineating Pike Place Market, through a perennial shower of raindrops and mist, and under a vertical column of winking, blinking marquee lights is Seattle's historic Showbox at the Market.  Founded way back in '39 and still going strong, the Showbox ballroom has draw many of the greatest musicians and performers of all time.  Name any artist or band, and they've probably graced the Showbox with their tunes and presence. Duke Ellington? Check. Muddy Waters?

Finishing up their Spring West Coast tour this weekend in Seattle on 4/20, Dark Star Orchestra today announce plans for the 2nd annual Jam in the Sand event. Fresh in from its debut international Jam in the Sand festival in Negril, Jamaica, Dark Star Orchestra announces today the offering of yet another intimate experience for its fans. ‘DSO High School’ is a week-long retreat at Full Moon Resort in the Catskills August 5 – 9 offering an exclusive curriculum with workshops, activities, lessons as well as three Dark Star Orchestra shows.

Dark Star Orchestra and All Good Presents announced today that the Dark Star Jubilee will be returning on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26, to Legend Valley in Thornville, OH, just 30 minutes east of Columbus.

On a mild January Friday night in Boulder, my photographer, Harvdog and I decided to skip the usual CU ragefest and check out Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue performing the "Best Of Winterland" at our local Boulder Theater.

Dark Star Orchestra is beckoning to the spring with Spring Tour West 2013 starting in Colorado on March 28 with a rousing 4/20 conclusion set for Seattle. Along the way we'll include shows in Denver, San Diego and almost a full week around the Bay Area, while visiting some of our favorite venues as well as new ones, including Club Nokia in L.A.
