Putumayo is pleased to announce the release of World Peace on June 14th, 2019. It was inspired by President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. and other 1960s leaders’ search for peace and justice. JFK’s historic “peace speech” at American University on June 10th, 1963 led to the first limited nuclear test ban treaty and an easing in Cold War tensions.

How many lead guitarists does it take for one to sufficiently experience Jimi Hendrix? Well, according to the Experience Hendrix Tour that rolled through the Mondavi Center in Davis, California, on Feb. 22, the correct answer is seven. Now gone for 46 years, the music and legend of Jimi Hendrix, still recognized as among the top rock guitarists of all time, still survives and flourishes.

After a great interview on Valentine’s Day with probably the best blues Americana musician alive, it was my pleasure to see him perform at the Boulder Theater. As I approached the theater, I noticed that there were a lot of people looking for extra tickets. I should not have been surprised, but the show was very sold out.

The blues is a music that is engrained in our musical history whether you think it is or not. After reviewing Buddy Guy’s show a few months ago, and conducting this interview with Keb’ Mo’, I have been humbled to listen to and record a live history of a music genre that although its members are dwindling, its passion, invention, and legacy will never weaken.
