The Motet
When you bring a together a cast of musicians steeped in different backgrounds for the sole purpose of creating on-stage spontaneity, you have an improvisational outfit. The Everyone Orchestra, conducted by ringleader Matt Butler, is exactly that. The difference between your typical jam band and an improvisational outfit is that the latter shows up to the show with no songbook.
The Everyone Orchestra is thrilled to announce a return to Colorado, May 18th through May 21st, 2013 in Fort Collins, Gunnison and Denver, CO.
Live Nation is pleased to present THE MOTET at The Fillmore Auditorium on Saturday, April 20. Special guests OZOMATLI, Soul Rebels Brass Band and DJ Mikey Thunder will open the show.

I’ve said it so many times to so many different people, “go see the Motet”. I tell my jam friends, my womp friends, and even my white rapper friends, “go see the damn Motet”. Anybody that has ever listened to me has been completely blown away. Most people have just never had that much funk in their face before, so it’s understandable when they complain about a neck pain the next morning.

The first time it happened, in December of 2001, I was in a room roughly the size of The Fox Theatre in Boulder. Ekoostik Hookah, an Ohio-based jamband, launched into the eurhythmic, tom-driven section of their epic piece, Ecstasy.
