The highly anticipated Hella Mega Tour (Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and Green Day), postponed from 2020 came to Boston’s historic Fenway Park on August 5th 2021. Unfortunately Fall Out Boy had to miss the NY and MA show because of sickness in their crew.

I don’t know what normal is anymore. So, I am still a little dumbfounded when people say we are getting back to normal. Or, their slightly more pessimistic counterparts, who assure me that this is the new normal. Tuesday night, seeing Billy Strings play at The Champlain Valley Expo outside of Burlington, VT felt like it landed right between those two paradigms; seizing on the optimistic return to what was, and infecting what is with that same sense of buoyancy.

Bluegrass guitar virtuoso Billy Strings has been one of the hottest artists in both the bluegrass and jam band communities since prior to the covid-19 pandemic. In addition to winning a Grammy in 2019, he has continued to build a dedicated following by releasing new songs as well as live streams to audiences that were stuck at home. On September 24th, 2021, his new album Renewal will be released.

The Mishawaka Amphitheater is a mystical place that lies somewhere between a state highway and a river in northern Colorado. It is one of those venues that most have heard of, even seen pictures of, but surprisingly, many in the region still remark that they have not set foot on its storied grounds. Over the weekend, the Tedeschi Trucks Band made their annual return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre and once again gave the sold-out crowd four solid sets of soulful magic and hair-raising guitar work over two nights.

San Francisco-based singer-songwriter EllaHarp has released the latest single, “Sunshine and Roses,” from her upcoming full-length album Screaming Into The Void (out September 17). The song, while having a bright, positive title, was actually penned about EllaHarps ongoing battle with depression.

Everything was right last night in Alpharetta, Ga as Phish made their triumphant return to Ameris Bank Ampitheatre for a sold out crowd, and brought the heat that they famously deliver. The Vermont based jam rockers were armed with a new light rig that made a larger appearance for the first time this tour, as the rig was augmented at the two prior shows.

What a return to live music. The atmosphere was electric. The venue, freshly expanded, and the band… they were dead on. This was Phish’s first-time playing Arkansas. Only 4 states remain that have yet to be graced by the greatness.

Venerable Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir led an epic spectacular on July 24, overseeing an ensemble performance at the legendary Greek Theatre on the University of California Berkeley campus.
