Slightly Stoopid

The last day of a festival is always bittersweet, but fans came to the fairgrounds early to take in as much of Cali Roots as they could. Day three began as festival goers trickled in just as New Kingston wrapped up their sound check. Walking through the gates of the fairgrounds with this live music already playing earlier than usual proved an uplifting and exciting experience to the festival. Starting the day with New Kingston set a positive tone for the rest of the day.

The ninth annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival will take place at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center from May 25-27, 2018. To celebrate, California Roots is bringing back a second volume of their popular vinyl release series begun in 2017. The limited edition vinyl album has a unique splatter design, mixing four colors and housed in a gatefold jacket spread. The album features songs from artists on this year’s line-up, including an exclusive unreleased song from Slightly Stoopid.

Levitate Music Festival is proud to announce jam-rock quartet Spafford as the final addition of to its 2018 lineup happening July 7th-8th, 2018. The Arizona-based four-piece is self-described as “electrofunk therapy,” and can be characterized by their strong vocals, tight harmonies, catchy tunes, captivating live shows, and immense improvisational abilities. Spafford will be joining previously announced headliners such as Trey Anastasio Band and The Head And The Heart, as well as Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, Lake Street Dive, Stick Figure, and more.

The ARISE Music Festival is committed to producing an annual gathering that is a vehicle for building and strengthening community. Slightly Stoopid have raised over $20,000 for charity through a successful artwork auction. The hand painted stills, which were turned into a music video for the band’s latest single “One Bright Day”, caught the attention of fans worldwide as well as Hard Rock International. Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Global BrightLight Foundation (GBL), a nonprofit that provides affordable solar energy solutions to rural and impoverished communities globally.

Slightly Stoopid announce the release of a new animated video for the song “One Bright Day” featuring singer/songwriter Angela Hunte, off of their most current album release, Meanwhile … Back at the Lab. The video is comprised of animated stills procured from large canvas paintings donated by Hawaii-based artist and aspiring pro-surfer Danielle Zirk. Original art from the video will be auctioned, with proceeds donated to Global BrightLight Foundation.

SweetWater Brewing Co. collaborated with bands The Hip Abduction and Slightly Stoopid to create two limited release brews, both pouring at this year’s 420 Fest (April 21 – 23 in Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park).  Fans can get a sneak pre-taste in the brewery’s taproom. The Hip Abduction’s “Hipbiscus Tropical Ale” will be on tap during regular tour hours April 5 – 9; followed by Slightly Stoopid’s “Citra Hash Stoopid Brew” April 12 – 16.

Slightly Stoopid have unveiled the initial dates for their 11th annual summer tour. The 2017 Sounds of Summer tour will route the California natives to amphitheaters and pavilions across North America and take the band overseas for festivals throughout Europe. Joining Slightly Stoopid on all June, July and August US dates are Iration, J Boog, and The Movement. Pre-sale tickets go on sale at 12 PM local time this Friday, March 3rd through the Slightly Stoopid fan club.

Jungle Jam organizers today announced that the 2017 festival will be moving to new festival grounds right along the beach in downtown Jaco, Costa Rica. The festival which is headlined by Slightly Stoopid, the Reggae Rock group from Ocean Beach/San Diego and Thievery Corporation returns to the resort city March 9-12, 2017.

Today, Rolling Stone Magazine premiered a live video of Slightly Stoopid performing the Grateful Dead’s “Franklin’s Tower” with the support of special guests Bob Weir and Karl Denson. The track was originally performed during the Live from Roberto’s webcast at Weir’s Tamalpais Research Institute Studios in San Rafael, California earlier this year.
