Sublime
The video features vintage footage of the band over the last 20+ years, a retrospective of many milestones and collaborations in the band’s career, including performances from early days with Bradley Nowell (Sublime), Snoop Dogg (2009), Bob Weir (2011), Karl Denson, Sly and Robbie, Half Pint, and Pepper (2008).
Despite the weather forecasts throughout the few days prior to the event, mother nature decided she’d cooperate with the city of Cincinnati last weekend as Bunbury Music Festival took place at Yeatman’s Cove and Sawyer Point. The venue sits along the Ohio River, with three of Cincinnati’s bridges and several skyscrapers looming above the stages. Northern Kentucky’s neighborhoods sit just across the river, providing the perfect backdrop for an urban music festival.
The late and indisputably great Bradley Nowell of 90’s rock phenomenon Sublime was only less-than-a-year shy of being inducted into the infinite 27 Club. His fatal heroin overdose in 1996, however, did not seal the fate for his reggae/ska stylee that ascended the alternative scene into what could have been arguably—the new sound of the 90’s.
On Tuesday July 22nd, SoCal based band Pepper released their new album, Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations. Originally from Hawaii, the band brought their island rhythms and sounds with them to the mainland a few years back after they were noticed by a Los Angeles based indie record label.
