Tea Leaf Green
Tea Leaf Green returned to the 8x10 in Baltimore, MD last weekend for the high energy conclusion of their four night east coast stint. They doubled down on another fresh set list and tasty jams, much to their delight of their fans, the Leafers. This band is no stranger to this well known, intimate club, and closed out their run with vigor.
Tea Leaf Green celebrated twenty five years as a band this past week with a four night East coast run that began in Bridgeport, CT at the Park City Music Hall. The band hasn't played on the East coast since 2018, and the Leafers, also known as Tea Leaf Green fans, were certainly eager to catch them in person. This band has certainly still got it, as they played a high energy set complete with special guests and raging jams.
The Park City Music Hall in Bridgeport, CT is a newly revitalized music venue teeming with emerging artists in the jam scene as well as other genres. It also provided the perfect location for assembling an all star squad of jam band and jazz musicians. Last Friday, Eric DiBerardino from Tea Leaf Green decided to do just that, and invited more than a bakers dozen of his talented musician friends from bands like Deep Banana Blackout and Kung Fu in honor of his birthday.

Held each year in February/March to surround Valentine’s Day, the tour is a celebration of LOVE - musically, communally, and in all of its many forms. The band is thrilled to announce some amazing openers (old friends and new), as well as a fundraising component for the victims of California’s recent wildfires. More info on the charitable component to come.

Isaac Newton once said, “If I have been able to see further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” The exciting new album and resulting tour of Reed Mathis and 'Electric Beethoven' is just that, going further standing on the shoulders of giants. The album is filled with classical allusions and improvisational rockets that launch off into another world. Mathis took a concept that he has been chewing on for quite some time and put the pieces together into a masterpiece.
On an incredible night of music that spanned an entire block in Five Points in Denver at a legendary venue, Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom and the Other Side, six bands took to the stage to crowded audiences.
Most folks going out to see live music generally seek a familiar favorite band, or at the very least a certain style or genre implied. Rarely can an act draw interest based on anything without these qualities. Matt Butler’s Everyone Orchestra is the exception. Butler is a fantastic multi-instrumentalist (primarily a drummer) who decided to abolish all of the above qualifiers of what constitutes a traditional band.
