Farm Aid's annual benefit concert took place at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, NC on September 24th.  The sold-out crowd was treated to sets by headliner Willie Nelson and co-founder John Mellencamp, board members Dave Matthews and Margo Price, and featured artists Sheryl Crow and Chris Stapleton, among others. One significant absence at this year's event was co-founder Neil Young.

In honor of his birthday today, New West Records & Pedernales Records are proud to announce Live Forever: A Tribute To Billy Joe Shaver to be released November 11th, 2022. My first concert was Willie Nelson in January of 1984. I was only eight years old. My mum took me as her date since my dad was sick. We trekked across town to the Universal/Gibson Amphitheatre which was later demolished for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. I remember it being cold and rainy. Regardless of the weather, Angeleno’s were decked out in their country finest. Dark denim, blinged out belts, rhinestone-embellished cowboy hats and Americana regalia filled the theatre.

Chris Stapleton returned to the stage over the weekend for three sold-out concerts at Gilford, NH’s Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. His first shows in 504 days, the performances featured the five-time Grammy Award winner along with his band: Dave Cobb (guitar), J.T. Cure (bass), Paul Franklin (steel guitar), Derek Mixon (drums), Morgane Stapleton (vocals, tambourine) and Mickey Raphael (harmonica) as well as special guest openers Elle King and Nikki Lane.

As we all know, tours and venues are opening across the country and with this, shows are being scheduled wherever there is an open night and music lovers everywhere are digging every minute of it. Recently Colorado has been blessed with a number of surprisingly great week mid-week shows, including Bob Weir last week, and this week the trend continues.

In celebration of Willie Nelson’s 88th birthday, acclaimed musician Nathaniel Rateliff is releasing a rendition of the track “It’s Not Supposed To Be That Way,” originally recorded as a duet with Waylon Jennings.
