Brothers Comatose

Americana mavens The Brothers Comatose bring their raucous, foot-stompin' live show on the road to premier venues across the West Coast and The Rockies with their Frostbite Tour throughout February and March 2017. The Brothers Comatose tour in support of a new The Covers EP: Volume 2 featuring a genre-hopping mix of rock, pop and country classics.

On their third album City Painted Gold, San Francisco string-benders The Brothers Comatose have deepened their rocking acoustic prowess to new heights. The musical comradery between banjo and guitar-slinging brothers Alex and Ben Morrison renders authentic each time they step onstage.

Expansive, uplifting, and just downright beautiful, City Painted Gold is one of the most anticipated records of the coming year – at least amongst the loyal fans The Brothers Comatose had won while touring across the country in support of their past two releases.

Despite their name, the band is anything but Comatose. “It's just one, big, extended Morrison music party,” they say.  Ben and Alex Morrison, guitar and banjo, and lead vocalists, front this rocking string band that has become a West coast headliner and national touring act in a mere four years.

It's The Brothers Comatose  first festival and it's coming up in just over 2 weeks in Calpine, CA at the Sierra Valley Lodge (45 min north of Truckee). The lineup includes:The Brothers Comatose, Hot Buttered Rum, Steve Poltz, The Sam Chase & The Untraditional, The Easy Leaves & The Dixie Giants...plus DJ sets by DJ Big Dwayne and Another Jerk. It was bound to happen that the San Francisco-based Brothers Comatose, one of the hottest bohemian bluegrass bands on the circuit would wind up pickin’ and grinnin’ from the Terrapin Crossroads stage at Phil Lesh’s lair in San Rafael, California.

Literal brothers, Alex and Ben Morrison grew up in a house that was known for its music parties. “The Morrison house was a gathering place for local musicians – everyone would bring an instrument, call out tunes, call out changes, and just play for hours” “I learned more in that living room than in any class I ever took.”  The brothers took this generous, inclusive and rowdy attitude and brought it to life on stages all over the country.

Nestled in the Sierras at the base of Squaw Valley Lodge, Winter Wonder Grass opened its door for the first time on the West Coast to deliver a top notch line up of Bluegrass music. The previously only located in Colorado festival spread its wings to expand to another Grass loving area in Tahoe. Billed as a Beer and Music festival the bill, did not lie. Every major brewer on the West Coast was in attendance from Lagunitas, Tahoe Favorite 50/50, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Green Flash and many, many more!

San Francisco’s biggest music festival is set to take over Golden Gate Park for its seventh year next week. This year Outside Lands sold out in record time, within just hours of single day passes going on sale.
