The Ain’t Sisters have released their newest single, "Heart Attack," from their much-anticipated new album, Atomic. The album is set to drop on March 29th, accompanied by a huge album release show in their hometown of Atlanta at Terminal West.
The first single off the new album, "Heart Attack," was written by co-frontwoman Arrie Bozeman, recorded by Ben Hernandez of Dragonsong Productions, and mastered by Greg Wright. This heartfelt track reminds us just how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken away.
“I was planning on going to see the Prince concert at the Fox Theater on April 14th, 2016. There's something eerily majestic about that place. That would have been my first time seeing one of my musical heroes live, but I got the flu—or some kind of ick—and missed the show. Just seven days later, the news broke that he’d been found dead at Paisley Park at 57 years old. I don’t recall hearing how or why he died, just that he was gone.
I remember feeling numb but began almost immediately ruminating on how fragile and precious this thing called life is. How important it is to tell the people we care about just how much they mean to us. Make the call. Take the time. Show up. The verse and hook spilled out of me that day, but that was it. I sat on the tune for years before sharing it simply because it seemed incomplete. Something more needed to be said. Eventually, I decided to let the music speak where I could not find the words.
Grief is an inevitable monster that eventually comes for us all. One way or another, we will feel its teeth sink into our very core and share that universal dose of humanity. I believe when folks leave us, the piece of our heart they hold goes missing too. How are we supposed to fill something like that? Should we? I guess the pain never leaves—it just changes. My roommate Pam puts an empty chair on the shrine in the backyard. I make music. Memories carry us forward. We try to live better and have no more cause for regret.”
This is the first of several singles coming from the new album. The album release show promises to be quite the party, featuring their friends Josh Roberts and the Hinges & Danielle Howle, on March 29th at Terminal West. Many more surprises will be announced for the big release party in the coming months. Tickets for the album release and all Ain’t Sisters shows are available here.

About The Ain’t Sisters:
Fun, eclectic folk rock. Fronted by the deliciously androgynous duo Arrie Bozeman and Barb Carbon, the Ain’t Sisters deliver high-energy performances of their wildly diverse original music. Joined by the hardest-working men in rock ‘n’ roll—Richie Jones on the boom-chick-thwackita-whackita and Justin Boudreau (aka BooDreamy), masterfully holding down the rhythm section and making everyone swoon with their gorgeous licks—their sound is one of a kind.
Think Indigo Girls meets Dream Theater, with a little Birdcloud thrown into the mix.
If ya ain’t sisters, what are ya?
