In its first week of release, THOUGHTS & OBSERVATIONS, the new album from Ireland’s popular indie band, has captured the #1 slot on the Irish charts, beating out Sabrina Carpenter, whose album has held the spot for the last five weeks. The achievement marks their fourth such #1 in a row.
The trio, comprising frontman Danny O’Reilly, bass player Graham Knox and drummer Conor Egan, took the new recording directly to their burgeoning fan base last week with a series of local shows and appearances in Dublin, Wexford, Kilkenny, Limerick, Galway and Cork in partnership with Golden Discs upon the album’s release. The band, ecstatic at the news of the chart, immediately sent a heartfelt “thank you” to all their loyal fans for their support.
Produced by Grammy award-winning, long-time collaborator, George Murphy (Mumford and Sons, The Specials, Ellie Goulding) at his Eastcote Studios in London, THOUGHTS & OBSERVATIONS, the band’s 8th studio album, is at times anthemic, at times delicate, but always authentic and full of emotion. The core band members also embraced the talents of their touring supergroup on this album with Lar Kaye (All Tvvins) on guitar, Cian MacSweeney (True Tides) on saxophone and Roisin O on backing vocals for the recording.

The Coronas head back to the U.S. for shows at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City on November 13 and the Brighton Music Hall in Boston on November 14.
Then it’s back to Australia prior to their traditional holiday shows at Dublin’s venerable Olympia Theatre—December 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17—all five of which sold out immediately. Final shows of 2024 are at Ulster Hall in Belfast on December 19 and INEC Killarney on December 28.
