Hangout Festival is partnering with the nonprofit organization Conscious Alliance to host an ‘Art That Feeds’ food drive at this year’s event. All attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate, which will benefit the Bay Area Food Bank. Anyone that donates 10 non-perishable food items will receive a free, limited edition commemorative event poster created by Roman Villagrana.

In quick fashion, YAMN continues to take their vision of live performance to new heights and they plan to unveil new material and a larger light show at all of their numerous shows throughout Colorado and the United States in 2011.  Fresh off their Mid-West tour in February and a recent headlining performance at the famed Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, the band is ready for what the rest of 2011 has in store for them.

It was over a decade ago, when I was barely of legal age to gain entry into a bar, that I used to frequent a small, smoky bar in my native Long Island, NY, and used to catch the house band that played every Monday night. The house band was a blues, funk, and roots-rock outfit that played a wide array of music, and was known for the stellar musical prowess of its members. Anchoring this band was lead guitar player and singer / songwriter Andy Falco, whose slick bluesy electric guitar solos were an oft anticipated segment of each song.

Gathering of the Vibes, the Northeast’s premier music and camping festival, confirms additional artists to join headliners Furthur featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, Jane’s Addiction, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, moe. and many more, July 21-24 at Seaside Park, Bridgeport, CT.

Celebrating its 15th year, and its 10th year in Preston County, WV, the All Good Music Festival is proud to announce a fundraiser for the Masontown Volunteer Fire Department.  While the festival brings excitement and revenue, not to mention great music, to the county, the county in turn supports the thousands of fans with essential and life-protecting services.

It’s a packed house Friday night at SF’s The Independent, and fans are jammed tight for experimental folk rockers Akron/Family. Crafting an indigenous vibe with some pagan artifacts, a frilled turquoise Cherokee quilt is draped over Miles Seaton’s keyboard, as the band shuffles unassumingly onto the stage.

Sara Lucas’ voice soared on Saturday night at the Larimer Lounge in Denver, cutting through the hypnotic guitar and drum rhythms of Ryan Seaton and Don Godwin, respectively. Brooklyn’s Callers were in town supporting Wye Oak on a tour that began in Tucson, AZ on March 21st and ends on April 15th in Philadelphia.
