First City Music Festival, a non-profit event focused on music, community, and the arts, proudly announces its fifth-year celebration, running from September 26th to 29th at The French Commons. With over 25 bands from across the country, the festival promises four days of live music, art, camping, family-friendly activities, yoga, and more.
This year’s lineup features the likes of Leftover Salmon, Armchair Boogie (performing two nights), Henhouse Prowlers, Arkansauce, Into The Fog, Chicken Wire Empire, Mama Said String Band, Airshow, Miles Over Mountains, Fox Crossing Stringband, and many more. The diverse selection of artists guarantees an unforgettable experience of picking, grinning, and dancing. With so much to offer, it's no wonder the festival is becoming a staple in the Midwest music scene.
Festival-goers can expect a wide array of experiences including camping, interactive art, food vendors, kids' activities, drum circles, live artists, and yoga sessions. "What's not to like?" festival-goer Andy H. said. "Great venue, super kind and friendly people, and then there's the music...just WOW!"
The festival also continues its mission to give back to the community. This year, the Evan Twitty Scholarship was awarded to Vincennes graduate Emmitt Ransom, and Vincennes University student Zoey Rinesmith will be learning hands-on photography alongside the festival’s talented photo team.
Kicking off with a pre-party on Thursday, September 26th, the festival promises non-stop fun for attendees of all ages. From yoga to kids' activities to incredible music all weekend long, there’s something for everyone. Ticket prices remain among the most reasonable in the festival circuit, emphasizing accessibility for all.
