2022 IBMA Momentum Band Award winner and 2022 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition winner, Michigan-based Full Cord releases their second single “I Laugh When I Think How I Cried Over You” from their upcoming album Cambium.
Producer Stephen Mougin shares: "One of the things that attracted me to Full Cord was their deep knowledge and understanding of many styles of music. Western Swing is clearly a passion for several band members and this tune provides a fantastic showcase of their skills. From the bouncy harmony lines to the “shout-chorus” style solo, this song makes you want to give it a Bob Wills: ‘Ah-ha’."
“Fans of traditional bluegrass music love the playing of Bill Monroe, while bluegrass is a main influence on my playing, a bigger inspiration for me would be the swing mandolin playing of Tiny Moore.”, says mandolin player and vocalist Brian Oberlin. “I first heard ‘Laugh’ from the Billy Jack Wills western swing band that was led by Tiny Moore on vocals and mandolin. Clever chorus & lyrics make for a swingin' song.”
Full Cord's album Cambium is scheduled for release in November.
